I Want To Show You
How Amazing
Direct Mail Can Be
For YOUR Business!
If you aren’t using direct mail in your business, you could be missing a HUGE opportunity and leaving unbelievable amounts of money on the table.
Yes, I’m talking about sending physical mail to your customers and prospects.
For many small businesses today (especially digital-first businesses), this is almost a foreign concept. They think it’s like building an igloo in the desert.
But the reality is that direct mail is making a big-time comeback, albeit mostly “in the shadows” — meaning only the really savvy businesses are using it, in many cases with fantastic results.
Meanwhile, the average small business stays 100% digital even while…
• Cost-per-click keeps getting more expensive…
• Email engagement continues to tank…
• And the algorithms spending your ad money get more and more flakey (not to mention the slimy techno-overlords collecting your ad money).
Direct Mail Is The Antidote
To All Of This.
Take it from me — I’ve spent most of my career in digital marketing, helping everyone from solo “kitchen table” businesses to multinational corporations grow their audiences and rake in more money. I know the incredible power of digital marketing, and I also know the struggles and pitfalls … inside and out.
I’m still a big believer in digital channels like email. I’m NOT telling you to abandon those (that would be crazy)!
What I’m telling you is that in many cases, trying to run your business with digital-only marketing is like trying to run a race with one leg!
Why Is Direct Mail
So Important Today?
Rising Ad Costs
For most businesses, digital ad costs are through the roof (especially compared to several years ago in the heyday of digital ads). On top of that, the number and quality of leads is all over the place — one day it’s great, the next it’s just terrible. In comparison, once you get direct mail dialed in, it’s both affordable and extremely predictable in terms of results.
Email Open Rates
Email is a fantastic sales channel. But the typical business gets ~20% to maybe 30% open rates (if they’re absolutely killing it) on their emails. That means 70% to 80% of your list never even sees your offer. A good direct mail promotion to your existing list will get a 90%+ “open and read” rate.
Crowded Inboxes
Even when your customers do open your emails, they’re distracted as hell. Often an email “open” consists of clicking on the email, and then clicking “delete.” With direct mail (when done right), you get your prospect’s undivided attention for a few precious moments to really consider your offer.
In other words, direct mail shines in exactly the places where digital marketing stumbles.
So Then, The Big Question...
Why do most small businesses avoid using direct mail?
For a couple of important reasons:
1. They don’t understand it
This is by far the biggest one. Direct mail is a black box to most business owners, and this uncertainty stops them from trying. I can show you how straightforward and simple it really is when you’re doing it right.
2. They think it’s expensive
Paying for postage upfront scares a lot of business owners off. Yet they have no problem letting the tech platforms slowly bleed them dry… Once you get direct mail dialed in, it can be way more cost-effective than digital.
But wait… there’s more!
It's overwhelmingly likely that your competitors aren't using direct mail.
Or if they are, they're probably using it wrong.
This creates a major opportunity for you.
There’s plenty of space in your customers’ mailboxes if you’ll just decide to take it.
You can't say this about email inboxes, which are more crowded than ever.
You can't say it about digital advertising, which is so oversaturated that most people have become unconsciously blind to it -- their brains have learned to automatically ignore it while scrolling social media or Googling something related to your product or service.
Direct mail bypasses these roadblocks. People still pay attention to physical items they can hold in their hands, like direct mail. And that attention is everything.
One More Critical Point...
Direct Mail Is Easier Than You Think
In fact, you can probably do it yourself.
If you want to give it a shot, grab my free step-by-step checklist that walks you through it here.
[Friendly warning: the economics of direct mail don’t work for everyone. You really need to know your numbers. But if you know some basic numbers, it’s a pretty straightforward yes or no.]
So if you can do it yourself, why am I even here?
Simple:
To save you time and money.
How?
I can get you set up and running faster
If you do it yourself, there will still be some kinks to work out (like with anything). And that means it’ll almost certainly take you longer to figure out and start making money on your own. I’ll get you there a lot faster.
I can tell you whether you should do direct mail at all
I can also tell you in a 15-minute conversation (or less) whether the economics of direct mail work for your business (in which case it’s a no-brainer to implement), or whether they don’t (or don’t yet) — in which case I’ll save you a whole bunch of time and money by NOT trying to implement something that doesn’t make sense for you right now.
